Agadir: The Egyptian national football team secured a hard-fought victory over Zimbabwe, winning 2-1 in the match held at Adrar Stadium in the Moroccan city of Agadir, as part of the first round of Group B matches of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) currently hosted by Morocco.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the match remained goalless until the 20th minute, when Zimbabwe opened the scoring through their player Prince Dube of Tanzania’s Young Africans club. Omar Marmoush equalized for Egypt in the 64th minute, and star Mohamed Salah added the second goal in the 91st minute.
With this result, Egypt earned its first three points, sharing the top of the group with South Africa, while Zimbabwe remained without points alongside Angola.
