Egypt’s National Railways Facilitates 23rd Voluntary Return Train for Sudanese Nationals


Cairo: Egypt’s National Railways Authority on Sunday operated the 23rd train under its voluntary return initiative, facilitating the safe repatriation of Sudanese residents living in Egypt, according to an official statement.



According to State Information Service Egypt, the initiative was launched under directives from Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel El-Wazir and has so far transported around 21,884 Sudanese passengers.



The latest train departed on October 5 and is scheduled to arrive at the High Dam Station late Sunday night, before returning to Aswan Station the following morning to continue serving passengers.



The rail authority reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to humanitarian efforts and coordination with relevant agencies to provide smooth services amid these exceptional circumstances.
