Egypt’s Defence Minister and Lebanese Army Chief Discuss Military Cooperation

Cairo: The Commander-in-Chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces and Minister of Defence, Lieutenant General Ashraf Salem Zaher, met on Wednesday with Lebanese Army Commander, General Rodolphe Haikal, and his accompanying delegation to discuss boosting bilateral military cooperation. The talks focused on issues of mutual interest and the latest regional and international developments, underscoring ongoing coordination between the two countries' armed forces.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Lieutenant General Zaher expressed pride in the deep-rooted ties between Egypt and Lebanon, describing the relationship as one binding two brotherly nations. For his part, Haikal praised Egypt's leading role at the regional and international levels and voiced hope for expanded cooperation in various military fields in the coming period.

The meeting was attended by Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, the Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces, and several senior military commanders from both countries.
