Montevideo: Egypt’s new Ambassador to Uruguay, Noha Khedr, submitted her credentials to President of the Republic of Uruguay, Yamandú Orsi, during an official ceremony at the Presidential Palace in the capital, Montevideo.
According to State Information Service Egypt, during his meeting with Khedr, Orsi asked the Egyptian diplomat to convey his greetings and congratulations to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, which he described as a gateway to Egypt’s ancient heritage.
Orsi acknowledged the historical ties between the two countries, emphasizing the longstanding diplomatic relations they have shared for years. He also noted the efforts by both nations to improve their relations at various levels.
Orsi highlighted the importance of strengthening friendship and promoting bilateral political, economic, and cultural cooperation. He recognized Egypt’s role as a key strategic partner in the Arab world and Africa.
Meanwhile, Khedr reaffirmed the commitment to expanding c
ooperation prospects in areas such as trade, investment, cultural exchange, and education to serve mutual interests.
