Egyptian Innovators Win Five International Medals at the 2026 Geneva Inventions Exhibition

Cairo: Dr Abd Elaziz Konsowa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, extends his heartfelt congratulations to the Egyptian innovators and researchers who won international medals at the 51st Geneva International Inventions Exhibition in 2026. The Egyptian delegation achieved a new international milestone by securing five international medals (two gold, two silver, and one bronze) amid broad global competition featuring thousands of inventions from around the world, with the participation and support of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Dr Konsowa expressed his pride in this achievement, affirming that the researchers' success in this prestigious international forum reflects the state's strategy to support innovation and invest in creative minds. He noted that these innovations represent promising technological solutions that contribute to supporting the national economy and enhancing Egypt's standing on the global innovation map.

Dr Gena El-Feki, Acting President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, stated that the accomplishment reflects the academy's ongoing efforts to support Egyptian innovators and enable them to present their inventions on international platforms. The aim is to transform research outputs into technological applications capable of competing globally.

The Egyptian delegation won two gold medals: Dr Rabie Younis Abdel Fattah Hassan from Zewail City of Science and Technology for the invention 'A cancer diagnostic platform using nano-sensor chips', and Dr Manar Yehia Ismail Abdel Aziz from the National Research Centre for the invention 'Textile rods for reinforcing concrete applications'.

The delegation also won two silver medals: Dr Eman Salah El-Din El-Mahlawy from Cairo University for an 'innovative method for producing deep-drawing steel', and engineer Mohamed El-Moatasem Mohamed Bahaa El-Din from Al-Protein Company for the 'OrioS bio-manufacturing system powered by artificial intelligence'. Dr Tarek Mohamed El-Bashir from the National Institute of Metrology received the bronze medal for the invention 'A miniature reverberation chamber for industrial measurements'.
