Cairo: Minister of Social Solidarity Dr. Maya Morsi met with Mr. Mohammed Abdiker, Chief of Staff at the International Organization for Migration (IOM), and his delegation at the ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital on Thursday, October 23, 2025. The meeting aimed to enhance cooperation in migration-related fields, focusing on return and reintegration programs and coordinating with the Egyptian Red Crescent to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the discussions also explored joint efforts with the Fund for Supporting Civil Society Projects to strengthen partnerships with NGOs addressing migration issues in Egypt. Dr. Morsi commended the Egyptian Red Crescent for its role as the national mechanism responsible for delivering aid to Gaza under international humanitarian law, emphasizing its effective relief operations despite facing significant challenges.
