Egypt Sets Dates for 2025 Parliamentary Elections


Cairo: Egypt’s Parliamentary elections will be held abroad on November 7 and 8, and domestically on November 10 and 11, announced the National Elections Authority in a press conference on Saturday 4/10/2025.



According to State Information Service Egypt, as part of Egypt’s 2025 parliamentary elections, voting will be conducted in two phases to cover all 27 governorates. The first phase will include 14 governorates, including Giza, Fayoum, Beni Suef, Minya, Assiut, the New Valley, Sohag, Qena, Luxor, Aswan, the Red Sea, Alexandria, Beheira, and Matrouh.



Meanwhile, the second phase governorates (13) will include Cairo, Qalyoubia, Daqahlia, Menoufia, Gharbia, Kafr El Sheikh, Sharqia, Damietta, Port Said, Ismailia, Suez, North Sinai, and South Sinai.



Nominations will open on October 8 and will remain open until October 15, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., except on the final day when the window will close at 12 p.m. The preliminary list of candidates will be announced and published in Al-Akhbar and Al-Gomhuria newspapers on October 16.



The Administrative Court will review and adjudicate appeals over a three-day period, from October 19 to 21. The final list of approved candidates will be published on October 23. The deadline for candidate withdrawals is October 25, with any withdrawals to be officially published in the Official Gazette on October 26.



Meanwhile, the election campaigning will begin on October 23, while the election silence period will start on November 6.



Elections will be held abroad on November 7 and 8, and domestically on November 10 and 11. The official results are scheduled for announcement on November 18, which also marks the resumption of campaigning for the first phase runoff.



Appeals regarding the first phase results must be submitted within 48 hours of the announcement, with a final deadline of November 20. The Supreme Administrative Court will adjudicate appeals over a 10-day period, from November 21 to November 30.



The runoff silence period begins on November 30. The runoff elections will take place abroad on December 1 and 2, and domestically on December 3 and 4. Results of the runoff are expected to be announced on December 11.



Campaigning for the second phase starts on November 6, with the silence period commencing on November 20.



Elections abroad will be held on November 21 and 22, while domestic voting will occur on November 24 and 25. The official results for the second phase are scheduled for December 2.



Appeals for the second phase results must be submitted within 48 hours of the announcement, with a deadline of December 4. The court will issue rulings within 10 days, from December 5 to December 14.



The runoff elections for the second phase will be held abroad on December 15 and 16, and domestically on December 17 and 18. The runoff results will be announced on December 25.
