Egypt Prepares to Host First African Anti-Doping Forum

Cairo: Minister of Youth and Sports Gohar Nabil discussed preparations for Egypt to host the first African Anti-Doping Forum during a video conference with Rodney Swigelaar, regional director of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). The meeting was attended by head of the Egyptian Anti-Doping Organization Hazem Khamis and the organization's Executive Director Eman Gomaa.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the discussions focused on organizational arrangements for the forum, which is scheduled for April. The conversation also covered cooperation among African sports institutions to support clean sport. The sports minister emphasized that the state is working closely with the Egyptian Anti-Doping Organization to ensure the event's success. The forum is expected to provide a platform for African countries to exchange expertise in awareness, monitoring, and regulations related to anti-doping.

Meanwhile, Swigelaar expressed appreciation for Egypt's collaborative efforts with African partners in supporting clean sport.
