Cairo: As military tensions ripple across the region, Egypt's Foreign Ministry says it has moved into round the clock mode to keep track of Egyptian communities in the Gulf, Jordan, and Iraq, and to help citizens who have been stranded during the latest disruption.According to State Information Service Egypt, Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty has been holding daily follow-ups with the ministry's consular sector, as well as Egypt's ambassadors and consuls across the region, to check on the situation of Egyptians living there and to monitor evacuation arrangements for those stuck in several Arab countries. The minister has directed Egypt's diplomatic and consular missions to work around the clock to receive citizens' inquiries, provide consular support, and track community needs in real-time, utilizing direct hotlines to expedite responses.The ministry has emphasized the importance of following up on Egyptians who sustained injuries, with instructions to check their condition in detail and ensure they receiv e the necessary care and support. Beyond resident communities, Abdelatty has instructed missions to maintain continuous monitoring of Egyptians stranded in various Arab states for transit or tourism, assisting in their return home. The ministry confirmed that it is in contact with relevant airlines to oversee evacuation operations and ensure appropriate services for those waiting to travel.Additionally, the Foreign Ministry announced the creation of a task force within the consular department as part of its broader response to the current wave of regional instability. The ministry expressed appreciation to Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Jordan for their efforts and the facilities they are providing to help evacuate stranded Egyptian citizens via their territories from neighboring countries. It has repeatedly framed this approach as practical and continuous, built on direct lines with missions and daily coordination with partners to keep citizens informed and supported as circumstances evolve.
