Cairo: Egypt has dispatched the 45th humanitarian aid convoy to the Gaza Strip under the ‘Zad Al-Izza… From Egypt to Gaza’ initiative, launched by the Egyptian Red Crescent. The convoy departed from the secondary gate of the Rafah land port and proceeded to the Kerem Abu Salem crossing, located in the southeast of the Strip.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the convoy carried thousands of tons of urgent food and relief supplies. These included food baskets, flour, legumes, canned meals, medical supplies, personal care items, infant formula, blankets, and drinking water. Despite the considerable aid, the entry of supplies into Gaza continues to face significant obstacles imposed by the Israeli authorities. Many aid trucks are subject to inspection by Israeli occupation forces and are often turned back to the Rafah crossing without any explanation.
The Egyptian Red Crescent has affirmed its continued commitment to supporting the people of Gaza since the onset of the crisis. Over 35,000 volunteers have been working tirelessly along the border to facilitate aid delivery. However, the challenges persist, with ongoing calls for a halt to the Israeli military actions in the besieged enclave.
The Government Media Office in Gaza reported that, despite agreements and calls for peace, the Israeli occupation continues its military actions. It stated that Israel launched a total of 93 raids over 24 hours, resulting in the loss of 70 lives in the Gaza Strip.
