Egypt: Egypt strongly condemned the attack carried out by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on the Mastariha area in North Darfur State, which resulted in a number of civilian casualties and injuries, in addition to the targeting and destruction of the only health facility in the area and assaults on medical staff.
According to State Information Service Egypt, in a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Egypt reiterated its categorical rejection of all forms of violence and violations targeting civilians and medical facilities, describing such acts as a flagrant breach of international humanitarian law. Egypt stressed the imperative of respecting and protecting healthcare facilities and medical personnel at all times.
Egypt reaffirmed the fundamental principles guiding its position on the crisis in Sudan, foremost among them the preservation of Sudan's unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity, and the rejection of any actions that would undermine state institutions or threaten national cohesion.
Cairo also underscored the urgent need for an immediate humanitarian truce as a prelude to a sustainable ceasefire, while prioritizing comprehensive political solutions that fulfill the aspirations of the brotherly Sudanese people.
Egypt further affirmed the continuation of its regional and international diplomatic engagement to support efforts aimed at ending the conflict in Sudan, particularly through its participation in the International Quartet, as well as to enhance humanitarian response and ensure safe and sustained access to aid for affected areas, thereby alleviating the suffering of the Sudanese people.
