Cairo: Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation Minister Rania Al-Mashat expressed appreciation for the UN Development Programme’s support of government initiatives, citing involvement in 45 projects across sectors such as climate action, development finance, digital transformation, clean energy, private-sector support, women’s empowerment, and social protection.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Minister Al-Mashat held a meeting with UNDP Resident Representative in Egypt, Chitose Noguchi, to discuss ways to bolster future collaboration and assess progress on Egypt’s forthcoming Human Development Report. The minister emphasized the strengthening of strategic ties through successive country programs, notably the 2023-2027 plan, which aligns with Egypt’s national development objectives.
Noguchi affirmed UNDP’s dedication to assisting Egypt’s development and financial strategies, highlighting initiatives like debt-swap programs and blended finance under the Integrated National F
inancing Framework. Both parties are collaborating on the upcoming Human Development Report, Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) localization, and South-South cooperation.
The discussions also addressed the 2026 Voluntary National Review, clean-energy growth, debt-swap project pipelines, and the execution of Egypt’s unified monitoring and evaluation system. Additionally, both sides explored methods to activate the Integrated National Financing Framework and enhance regional competitiveness through SDG localization reports published in 2025.
