Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Egypt’s Ministry of Health and Population and Sweden’s Ministry of Health and Social Affairs. The agreement focuses on strengthening partnerships in healthcare and medical fields.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the MoU was signed by Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Egypt’s Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Health Minister, and Ms. Elisabeth Lan, Sweden’s Minister of Health. The ceremony was attended by the Swedish Ambassador to Cairo, Dag Juhlin-Danielsson.
The agreement seeks to promote bilateral cooperation in public health, primary care, maternal and child health, and the establishment of public health control centers. It also aims to encourage knowledge exchange, collaboration between specialized medical centers and research institutes, and the adoption of modern health technologies.
Prime Minister Madbouly noted that the MoU supports Egypt’s efforts to expand international partnerships in the medical sector, improve healthcare services, and leverage global expertise. Dr. Abdel Ghaffar stated that the partnership with Sweden opens opportunities for research, technology application, and digital transformation in alignment with Egypt Vision 2030 and sustainable development goals.
