Egypt and Saudi Arabia Ink Visa Exemption Deal for Diplomatic Passports

Riyadh: Egypt and Saudi Arabia have signed an agreement to mutually exempt holders of diplomatic and special passports from short-stay visa requirements. This significant diplomatic move was formalized by Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdelatty, and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the agreement was signed during the foreign ministers' participation in a consultative ministerial meeting in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. This development underscores the profound and robust relationship between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, highlighting ongoing efforts to enhance and strengthen bilateral ties across various sectors to serve the interests of both nations' citizens.

The visa exemption agreement is aimed at facilitating travel for officials from both countries who hold diplomatic or special passports. This move is expected to ease the execution of official duties, bolster institutional relationships, and support increased coordination between Cairo and Riyadh.
