Cairo: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates hosted a coordination meeting with Equatorial Guinea in preparation for their joint committee scheduled for the second half of this year. The meeting was led by Egypt's Deputy Foreign Minister for African Affairs Mohamed Abu Bakr Saleh and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Diaspora of Equatorial Guinea Mara ngeles Nsang.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the Egyptian official underscored the importance Egypt attaches to its relationship with Equatorial Guinea, highlighting the strong relationship between the two countries' leaders. He affirmed Egypt's readiness to continue cooperating as a development partner, particularly in priority sectors, and welcomed Equatorial Guinea's interest in increasing the involvement of Egyptian companies in the country's development, building on successful experiences such as Arab Contractors.
Saleh reviewed Egypt's preparations for hosting the African Union mid-year summit in June 2026 in El Alamein city, alongside a business forum, inviting major Equatorial Guinean companies to participate. Meanwhile, the Equatorial Guinean official emphasized the strong fraternal relations between the two nations, expressing her country's commitment to expanding cooperation with Egypt in key development sectors.
