Egypt and DR Congo Chiefs of Staff Explore Military Cooperation

Cairo: Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa engaged in discussions with Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo Lieutenant General Jules Banza Mwilambwe on Monday, April 6th, 2026, focusing on a set of topics of mutual concern.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting addressed the latest regional and international developments and their implications for security and stability across the African continent. The discussions highlighted the significance of strengthening bilateral cooperation in various military fields between the armed forces of the two nations.

The visit of the Congolese military chief to Egypt, accompanied by a high-level delegation, underscores the commitment of both countries to enhance military collaboration. An official reception ceremony marked the occasion at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Defense, with military bands playing the national anthems of both countries in a show of solidarity and mutual respect.

The meeting was attended by senior military officials from both countries, as well as the Congolese ambassador in Cairo, reflecting the importance of the dialogue in fortifying military ties and addressing shared security concerns.
