Cairo: The Central Bank of Egypt announced a significant rise in remittances from Egyptians working abroad, which increased by 28.4 percent. This increase brought the total to approximately $25.6 billion during the period of July to January in the 2025/2026 fiscal year, compared to about $20 billion in the same timeframe the previous year.According to State Information Service Egypt, on a monthly scale, remittances saw a rise of 21 percent in January 2026, reaching around $3.5 billion. This was an increase from roughly $2.9 billion recorded in January 2025, as indicated by the bank's statement.
