Cairo: Spokesman of Cairo Governorate Ibrahim Awad confirmed that the governorate is in a state of full readiness to handle expected weather fluctuations on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, and Thursday, March 26, 2026, following warnings issued by the Egyptian Meteorological Authority regarding adverse weather conditions.
According to State Information Service Egypt, in a phone-in on Extra News channel, Awad urged citizens to stay home and avoid going out unless absolutely necessary. He said that this would allow sanitation teams and relevant agencies to respond promptly to any issue, ensuring public safety.
He added that the Meteorological Authority warned of rainfall ranging from moderate to heavy intensity, which may be accompanied by thunderstorms in some areas. He also noted that the governor directed all district operations rooms to raise their level of readiness to the highest degree.
Awad emphasized that all service directorates in Cairo Governorate, alongside water, electricity, and ambulance services, are on maximum alert with heightened readiness to receive and respond immediately to any reports or emergencies.
