Cairo: The cabinet’s media center has clarified the truth behind a circulating video claiming that one of the flights exceeded the designated passenger capacity on board the aircraft.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the Ministry of Civil Aviation confirmed that this flight did not depart from Cairo International Airport but was a flight arriving from another country and not affiliated with any of the Egyptian airlines. In a statement released on Saturday, December 20, 2025, the center added that once the video was detected, it was closely monitored by the relevant authorities within the ministry to verify the accuracy of its contents and examine all the technical and operational details related to the controversial flight, in accordance with the procedures and regulations in place for such matters.
The statement emphasized that all airlines operating in Egypt are committed to the regulations and laws governing civil aviation, in line with internationally recognized air safety standards. This includes strict adherence to the designated capacity for each aircraft and the allowed number of passengers per flight. The ministry confirmed that any violation of these regulations constitutes a serious breach, requiring immediate investigation and legal action if proven.
The ministry called on social media users, media outlets, and the public to ensure accuracy and credibility when sharing news and information related to the civil aviation sector. It urged reliance on official data issued by the relevant authorities to avoid spreading or circulating inaccurate or misleading information that could cause confusion among the public.
