Cairo: The Cabinet’s Media Center released a series of infographics detailing Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli’s activities over the week, focusing on infrastructure modernization, heritage preservation, renewable energy, and social welfare. In the civil aviation sector, Madbouli conducted an extensive inspection tour of Cairo International Airport, where he emphasized presidential directives to embrace cutting-edge navigation and ground operation systems. Following the tour, a meeting was held with the minister of aviation to review the comprehensive vision and strategic development of the national carrier, EgyptAir.

According to State Information Service Egypt, in tourism and cultural heritage, Madbouli attended the signing ceremony of a management contract for the Continental Hotel in Downtown Cairo. Marking the entry of India’s “Taj” brand into Egypt, the project seeks to transform the building into a 300-room 5-star hotel while preserving its original architectural style. Regarding renewable energy and sustainability, Madbouli had a meeting with the minister of electricity to discuss ongoing efforts for upgrading the national grid and ensuring power supply for the “New Delta” agricultural reclamation projects. Egypt’s renewable energy capacity (wind, solar, and hydro) has reached 8,866 MW, supported by 300 MWh of battery storage, the premier was told during the meeting.

In healthcare and social welfare, the prime minister directed the bodies concerned to speed up the implementation of Phase 2 of the Universal Health Insurance System (UHIS). Current data shows 5.2 million beneficiaries across six governorates, with an average registration rate of 81.7%. During a meeting with the minister of supply, Madbouli discussed how to optimize the subsidy system to ensure that aid reaches those most in need. Madbouli visited the El Saff Township in Giza to inspect the progress of the presidential rural development initiative “Decent Life,” touted as the “greatest Egyptian project of the 21st century,” serving over 60 million citizens. The premier inspected a sewage pumping station and a drinking water plant, a public service complex, a family medicine unit, and an elementary school.

In terms of industrial investments, Madbouli witnessed the signing of three major industrial contracts by industrial developer TEDA-Egypt zone in the Sokhna industrial zone, affiliated with the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone). The contracts were signed between TEDA-Egypt and each of Xin Feng Ming Group, Chaoyang Langma Tire, and Tongling Jieya Biotechnology, with total investments amounting to approximately $1.15 billion. With the signing of these three projects, total investments attracted by the Suez Canal Economic Zone during the first half of FY2025/2026 have risen to approximately $5.1 billion, compared to $4.6 billion during FY2024/2025.

Regarding governance and data integrity, Madbouli attended the signing ceremony of two cooperation protocols to unify and verify Egypt’s export and import data. The deals are intended to create a centralized, accurate database that enhances global trust in Egyptian trade figures and supports strategic planning for high-value-added sectors. At the urban development level, the prime minister held a high-level meeting to follow up on the progress rate of projects underway in the cities of New Ras El Hekma and Shams El Hekma along the Mediterranean Sea coast. The meeting focused on building the infrastructure and providing comprehensive services in Shams El Hekma. The meeting also addressed efforts to remove obstacles hampering the New Ras El Hekma city project and disburse compensation to those affected by state development and urban renewal projects, which include buildings, lands, and agricultural assets.
