Cairo: Cabinet Spokesperson Mohamed El-Homosany has confirmed that the second phase of the Universal Health Insurance System will encompass the comprehensive development of healthcare facilities and units to enhance the quality of health services provided to citizens.
According to State Information Service Egypt, El-Homosany highlighted in a statement to Extra News channel that Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly reviewed the progress of the second phase’s implementation. During a recent meeting, the needs of various governorates were assessed to ensure they meet the standards of the comprehensive health insurance system.
The evaluation includes the condition of existing healthcare facilities, with an emphasis on necessary developments to align with system standards. Alexandria Governorate is also under evaluation to determine its inclusion in this phase. Additionally, Prime Minister Madbouly has instructed the Ministry of Finance to allocate forthcoming fiscal year resources to support both the Comprehensive Health Insurance System and the presidential initiative ‘Decent Life.’
El-Homosany emphasized the importance of digital transformation, ensuring that all citizens’ health data are securely registered within an integrated system.
