Cairo: Minister of Culture Dr. Jihan Zaki on Saturday, 14/2/2026 affirmed Aswan International Sculpture Symposium in showcasing Egypt's prominent role in sculpture, a key part of Egyptian art and an essential element in strengthening the nation's cultural identity and international image.
According to State Information Service Egypt, during her visit to the symposium's 30th session exhibition, dedicated to the memory of renowned Egyptian artists Adam Henein and Salah Marei, Zaki lauded the artistic quality of the works, which showed a connection between the artists, Aswan's natural beauty, and ancient Egyptian civilization. She also praised the young talents in workshops, as well as the technicians and craftsmen whose skills contributed to the standard of production.
She advocated for collaboration with the Ministries of Local Development and Housing to use the symposium's innovations in beautifying public spaces and new cities, thereby improving the urban environment and visual appeal.
She emphasized that the symposium aligns with the Ministry of Culture's commitment to supporting sculpture, nurturing emerging talent, and fostering collaboration between Egyptian and international artists to develop skills and expand creative horizons. She recognized the sculptors' professionalism and their influence on the Egyptian environment, evident in the uniqueness of their works.
The 30th session features thirteen sculptors from diverse countries, showcasing a range of artistic styles and enriching Aswan's cultural landscape, solidifying its position as a prominent artistic hub in the region.
