Al-Khatib and Yu Han-ko Discuss Enhancing Egypt-South Korea Trade Relations


Cairo: Engineer Hassan Al-Khatib, the Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, engaged in a virtual meeting via video conference with Mr. Yu Han-ko, the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy of the Republic of Korea. The session was also attended by several key officials, including Mr. Hossam Heyba, Chairman of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones; Dr. Amani Al-Wesal, Head of the Agreements and Foreign Trade Sector at the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade; and Minister Plenipotentiary Ahmed Bediwy, Head of the Promotion Sector at the General Authority for Investment.



According to State Information Service Egypt, the primary focus of the meeting was to explore methods to enhance bilateral trade and investment relations between Egypt and South Korea. Discussions centered around advancing joint economic cooperation to new levels. Both parties reviewed future plans concerning negotiations on an economic partnership agreement aimed at increasing trade flows and eliminating barriers to investment. Additionally, they addressed several topics of mutual interest pertinent to both nations.



This strategic meeting aligns with the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade’s ongoing initiatives to attract more foreign direct investment and fortify international partnerships with leading global economies.
