Agriculture Ministry Approves 468 Licenses for Livestock and Poultry Projects in Early February

Cairo: The Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, through its Animal and Poultry Wealth Development Sector, has announced the approval of 468 operational licenses in the first half of February 2026. These licenses, which include both renewals and new issuances, cover a range of activities and projects related to livestock, poultry, feed production, and milk collection centers.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the announcement was made following a detailed report submitted to Minister of Agriculture Alaa Farouk by Tarek Suleiman, Head of the Animal and Poultry Wealth Development Sector. Suleiman highlighted that these efforts are aligned with directives from Minister Farouk and his deputy Mostafa el Sayyad, focusing on easing licensing procedures while maintaining strict adherence to biosecurity and safety standards.

The ministry's initiatives aim to streamline the licensing process for livestock, poultry, and feed projects, ensuring the proper registration of feed mixtures and supporting optimal performance rates. Additionally, these efforts are designed to bolster export growth. During this period, the ministry approved EGP 297.36 million in disbursements to 425 beneficiaries involved in the National Calf Project, which supports the raising and fattening of 4,251 heads of cattle.

Furthermore, the ministry approved 294 feed mixture registrations, comprising 190 local and 104 imported products. These approvals were coordinated with the Regional Center for Feed and Food and the Animal Production Research Institute. Technical approvals were also granted for 22 new livestock and poultry projects, adhering to preventive and biosecurity standards in desert regions.

Export approvals were issued for fish feed, feed additives, processed poultry products, and frozen poultry, including quail, duck, pigeon, and turkey, destined for several Arab and foreign countries. Additionally, the ministry has enhanced digital licensing procedures for automated livestock, poultry, and feed projects through its official website, the Egypt Digital Platform, and mobile applications, thereby simplifying access and expediting the issuance of licenses and related services.
