Agriculture Minister Travels to Jordan for Egyptian-Jordanian Agricultural Committee Meetings

Amman: Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Alaa Farouq has embarked on a visit to Jordan to participate in the latest session of the Egyptian-Jordanian Agriculture Committee.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Farouq will lead the Egyptian delegation in the meetings aimed at bolstering agricultural collaboration between Egypt and Jordan.

The committee, co-chaired by the agriculture ministers of both nations, will provide a platform for discussions on enhancing cooperation in various agricultural sectors. Farouq is set to engage in a bilateral meeting with Jordanian Agriculture Minister Saeb Khreisat. The discussions will focus on enhancing joint efforts in agricultural fields such as trade exchange, the transfer of expertise, and the implementation of modern irrigation and smart agriculture technologies. The talks will further explore food security and joint agricultural investments.

The Egyptian-Jordanian Agriculture Committee is a crucial mechanism for ongoing coordination between the two countries, ensuring seamless agricultural trade and addressing regional challenges in the sector. Farouq’s agenda also includes participating in a high-level regional dialogue on empowering women and improving access to finance for promoting circular agriculture in the Arab region. This event will gather Arab agriculture and food security ministers and representatives from international and regional organizations.

The dialogue will spotlight the role of rural women in agricultural development and emphasize the necessity of securing adequate funding to adopt circular agriculture practices in the Arab region, thereby enhancing the sustainability and efficiency of agricultural resource use.
