Abdel Ghaffar Participates in Virchow Prize Ceremony 2025 in Germany


Berlin: Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar has participated in the Virchow Prize Ceremony 2025, organized on the sidelines of the World Health Summit taking place from October 12-14, under the theme ‘Innovative Solutions for Climate Change Resilience and Water Sustainability.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, stated that one of the primary goals of the Verco Foundation is to raise public awareness about the importance of global health. This endeavor aligns closely, in terms of content and structure, with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN 2030 Agenda.

Dr. Abd El Ghaffar added that the annual Virchow Award is granted for pioneering research, major innovations, and outstanding contributions with significant impact on global health. He noted that the award ceremony was attended by about 250 distinguished guests from the German government and parliament, civil society, a
cademic, political, and private sectors, as well as the global health community.
