Sisi arrives in Washington to participate in 2022 US-Africa Leaders Summit

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi arrived in Washington on Tuesday 13/12/2022 to participate in the 2022 US-Africa Leaders Summit which will be hosted by US President Joe Biden for three days with the participation of 49 African leaders.

On the sidelines of the summit, Sisi will hold bilateral meetings with a number of the participating leaders, presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said, adding that the president intends to focus during the summit on issues of concern to African countries in light of the current global challenges. He will be focused as well on strengthening the African-US partnership to confront the global food security crisis, facilitate the integration of African countries into the global economy, bolster opportunities to achieve economic growth, transfer technology and increase foreign investment, he also said.

The spokesman added that the agenda of the president’s visit to the US includes holding meetings with a number of senior US officials to discuss ways to strengthen relations between the two countries for the benefit of their peoples, as well as continue consultations and coordination on regional and international files of mutual concern.

Also, according to Rady, he is scheduled to meet with leading figures of the business community in the US to probe ways to enhance cooperation in the economic, trade and investment fields.

President Sisi is also set to meet on the sidelines of the summit with a number of heads of state and government for cooperation talks and to exchange views on various regional and international issues.

Cabinet holds weekly meeting at NAC to probe key files

The cabinet, led by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, started Wednesday its weekly meeting at the New Administrative Capital (NAC) to probe a number of political, economic and social files, the latest developments in the global arena and repercussions of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis.

The cabinet discusses a number of topics, bills and important ministerial decisions that aim to achieve progress on all fronts and attain economic and social stability.

The meeting also probed how to encourage investments and complete implementation of different national projects in the country, topped by presidential initiative “Decent Life” to develop villages and the Egyptian countryside.

Participants tackle President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives regarding providing foodstuffs for the citizens, market control and the social solidarity umbrella.

Egypt condoles with Congo over victims of floods, landslides

Egypt offered condolences to the Democratic Republic of Congo over the death of over 100 people in floods and landslides.

In a statement on Wednesday, the Foreign Ministry underlined Egypt’s support for Congo in confronting flash floods and landslides that his the country, leaving behind victims and severe structural damage.

Egypt condoled with the families of the victims and wished those injured speedy recovery.

Emigration min. asserts depth of historic ties between Egypt, UAE

State Minister of Emigration Soha el Gendy asserted Wednesday the depth of historic ties between Egypt and the UAE.

The minister pointed out to her keenness on communicating on social media groups with the Egyptian expats to stand on their needs and demands, adding that there were responses to several calls of the Egyptian expats in these groups in Zimbabwe, Germany and Australia.

This came during Gendy’s meeting with members of the Egyptian community in the UAE in the Egyptian club in Dubai.

Gendy reviewed all the efforts exerted to boost the strategy of communicating with the Egyptian expats to achieve sustainable communication.

She tackled the efforts of the ministry to provide all the services and incentives presented to the Egyptians abroad on phone applications.

IDSC probes boosting entrepreneurship in “Economic Horizons” publication

The Cabinet’s Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) has issued a new edition of “Contemporary Economic Horizons” publication that includes entrepreneurship issue, which has become very important, especially following Covid-19 pandemic.

It is important to promote entrepreneurship notion as a milestone of national economy prosperity and welfare.

This periodical publication tackled the notion of entrepreneurship through experts and the importance of mechanisms for fostering this culture in Egypt.
