Cairo: The cities of Cairo and Luxor hosted a series of cultural and tourism exchange events between Egyptian and Chinese youth, as part of the Egypt-China Cross Culture Civilization Dialogue, which began on September 2 at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in the historic district of Fustat in Cairo, and concluded in the historic city of Luxor. The events were attended by senior officials, diplomats, archaeologists, ambassadors, representatives of major Chinese electric vehicle companies, as well as Egyptian and Chinese media figures, and Chinese officials. The focus was to discuss future friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
According to State Information Service Egypt, a highlight of the event was the premiere of the Egyptian-Chinese co-produced documentary titled "Yangtze Meets the Nile," a joint production between Egyptian TV and official Chinese television in Chongqing Province. The documentary showcased the similarities, harmony, and connections between the two oldest and most distinguished civilizations in history-the ancient Egyptian civilization along the Nile, the world's longest and oldest river, and the ancient Chinese civilization along the Yangtze, the third-longest river in the world. The film emphasized how both rivers were fundamental to the rise and greatness of these civilizations.
The Western China International Communication Organization (WCICO) hosted various relevant activities. The flagship "Yangtze Meets the Nile" Cross-Civilization Dialogue Forum featured keynote speeches by ministers and experts, the signing of cultural agreements, and the unveiling of a cultural exhibition highlighting achievements in heritage preservation, cultural exchange, and media cooperation.
