Sohag University Calls for Immediate Shift to Green Campus


Cairo: Sohag University announced that its Fourth International Environmental Conference concluded with recommendations calling for an immediate shift toward becoming a ‘green university.’



According to State Information Service Egypt, University President Hassan al Noamany stated that the recommendations include implementing a comprehensive plan to transform the campus into a model for sustainability in energy management, water conservation, and waste handling. The conference urged the establishment of a specialized institutional unit to oversee environmental sustainability, monitor progress, and assess impact.



The recommendations further emphasized the use of modern technologies such as artificial intelligence and geographic information systems to analyze environmental challenges and support decision-making. Additionally, there is a strong emphasis on directing research toward practical environmental solutions and linking academic output to real-world applications.
