Cairo: Board Chairman of the State Information Service (SIS) Alaa Youssef emphasized that efforts are ongoing to create a comprehensive plan to modernize Egypt’s media discourse, ensuring it keeps pace with regional challenges and rapidly changing geopolitical shifts, while prioritizing the country’s top national interests.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Youssef praised the efforts made by Minister of State for Information Diaa Rashwan during his tenure. Youssef noted that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi places great importance on strengthening communication with foreign media, emphasizing the priority of ensuring the accurate and timely flow of information amid current regional circumstances.
He highlighted the need to establish sustainable communication channels that reflect the scale of achievements on the ground. He added that boosting Egypt’s presence in international media is a top priority, especially given the country’s global recognition for supporting stability in the Middle East. ‘Egypt represents a pillar of balance in its region,’ he said, stressing the importance of developing mechanisms for engaging with foreign correspondents and international media outlets and providing them with verified information consistently.
Regarding cooperation with MENA, Youssef emphasized its strategic importance as a national platform with a long-standing history and international credibility. He noted reliance on the agency as a professional voice reflecting Egypt’s positions domestically and internationally, commending its recent development.
Regarding the use of technology, Youssef announced plans for a major advancement by adopting artificial intelligence tools for media monitoring and analysis, alongside upgrading the service’s website into a multilingual, interactive platform that communicates with the world in a modern language. He pointed to plans to upgrade media centers across governorates, turning them into interactive platforms that monitor citizens’ concerns and help combat rumors by sharing accurate information quickly. He emphasized that providing reliable information is a core part of the service’s mission.
He affirmed that the coming phase will witness increased coordination and cooperation with various government agencies, especially the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and organizations concerned with Egyptians abroad, to ensure a consistent and unified media message that serves national interests.
