PM Madbouly Evaluates Progress on Government Offering Programme in Key Sectors

Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly convened a meeting on June 16, 2025, to assess the progress of the government-offering programme within the petroleum and public business sectors.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting was attended by Eng. Mohamed Shimi, Minister of Public Business Sector, Eng. Hassan Khatib, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Eng. Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, along with other officials from the relevant authorities. The Prime Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to regularly reviewing the implementation of the offering programme in alignment with the State Ownership Policy Document. He noted that the meeting was part of ongoing efforts to bolster private sector involvement and stimulate economic growth in Egypt, specifically focusing on the petroleum and public business sectors.

Dr. Madbouly also stressed the importance of supporting the private sector by eliminating obstacles to its investments, especially in promising and critical sectors, to enable the sector to spearhead development initiatives.

During the discussions, the Minister of Petroleum highlighted several investment opportunities available to the private sector in the petroleum and mineral resources sectors. He confirmed the ministry’s dedication to collaborating with private entities to boost investment rates and meet state development goals.

The Minister of Public Business Sector outlined investment prospects for the private sector within companies linked to the public business sector, including mining, tourism, and other industries.

In addition, the Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade suggested creating a comprehensive strategy for the offering process in targeted sectors. This strategy aims to optimize state asset utilization and foster successful partnerships with the private sector, aligned with the state’s objectives.

Concluding the meeting, Prime Minister Madbouly directed that a clear vision for the offering process be developed in coordination with relevant ministries, to be presented to the Cabinet in the near future.
