Planning Ministry, ERI sign protocol to develop information structure

The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development has signed a cooperation protocol with the Electronics Research Institute (ERI) on developing information structure.

In statements on Friday, Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala El Said said the protocol comes in light of the ministry’s keenness to equip the ERI with an advanced information structure that qualify it to host the systems and websites of various government bodies.

On his part, Ashraf Abdel Hafeez, Assistant Minister of Planning and Economic Development for Digital Transformation and Information Infrastructure said the two parties agreed to work on increasing investment in the fields of scientific research, entrepreneurship, digital transformation and the applications of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The two sides will also work to enhance their contribution to achieving sustainable economic development through industrial development policies and programs, he added.

Abdel Hafeez stated that the ministry and the institute would cooperate in the exchange of technical and scientific expertise, making the best use of their research laboratories and preparing scientific cadres, as well as conducting joint research projects.
