Planning Minister Urges European Firms to Invest in Egypt

Brussels: Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation Rania Al Mashat has called on European companies to explore investment opportunities in Egypt. Mashat's remarks came during her meetings with representatives from France, Denmark, Sweden, the Netherlands, and Slovakia, as they discussed ways to boost investments, localize industry, and increase foreign trade.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the meetings were held on the sidelines of the planning minister's participation in the Global Gateway Forum 2025, organized by the European Commission in Brussels, Belgium. The meetings witnessed extensive discussions on fostering bilateral relations, strengthening joint investments, and increasing trade exchange.

Mashat reviewed the pillars of the National Narrative for Economic Development. She also addressed the positive developments witnessed by the Egyptian economy. She highlighted the Investment Guarantee Mechanism for Development between the EU and Egypt, which is a strategic platform designed to accelerate investment projects and provide broad financing solutions in Egypt.

The meetings also included discussions on developments in the Middle East. Representatives of the five European countries praised the pivotal role of the Egyptian leadership in enhancing regional security and stability and its efforts to end the war in the Gaza Strip.
