Petroleum min. and Australian amb. discuss cooperation in mining and gas domains

Petroleum Minister Tarek El-Molla discussed with Australian Ambassador in Cairo Glenn Miles means to enhance bilateral cooperation in the mining, gas and green energy domains.

In statements on Tuesday 31/01/2023, the minister said that they reviewed available investment opportunities in mineral wealth in Egypt and the country’s growing role as an exporter of natural gas.

The increasing credibility of the petroleum sector boosts confidence of international oil companies, giving positive signals that it respects its contracts with foreign partners, the minister further noted.

The minister reviewed developments related to the mining sector in Egypt in recent years in light of the significant reforms that were introduced with the aim to create a conducive climate for investors.

He went on to say that this matter helped attract 10 new international and Egyptian companies to invest in gold and mineral explorations through successful international bids.

The Australian ambassador said that his country looks forward to cooperating with Egypt in the gas, mining and hydrogen domains, underlining that Australian companies seek to get acquainted with investment opportunities in these fields in the country.
