Mufti stresses depth of Egyptian-Singaporean relations

Egypt’s Mufti Shawki Allam stressed the depth of relations binding Egypt and Singapore.

Singapore has made great strides in countering extremist ideology and attaining real integration for Muslims, said Allam during his meeting with a high-level Singaporean delegation led by Singapore’s Minister for Social and Family Development Masagos Zulkifli.

Allam, meanwhile, said that Singapore’s successful experiment in combating terrorism is worthy of being taught to many countries.

Islam is a religion which calls for positive and effective integration of Muslims into the non-Muslim societies, he went on to say.

Allam, meanwhile, said that Darul-Ifta is fully prepared to extend all kinds of support, cooperation and training to Islamic institutes in Singapore.

For his part, the Singaporean minister hailed the unremitting efforts exerted by Darul-Ifta in combating terrorism and extremism.

He also commended the remarkable progress in the services offered by Darul-Ifta.
