Jordan welcomes ceasefire agreement in Sudan

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates welcomed the agreement on a 7-day ceasefire, signed on Saturday Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, by representatives of the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which enters into force 48 hours after its signing. In a statement issued Sunday, the ministry commended Saudi Arabia and the United States of America’s important role and efforts to reach this agreement. The ministry expressed its hope that this step would contribute to facilitating the arrival of relief and humanitarian aid to the affected areas, and that this agreement would pave the way for reaching a permanent and comprehensive ceasefire in Sudan, in a way that meets the aspirations of the Sudanese people and bring security, stability and prosperity to the country.
