IAEA and Iran Reach Agreement to Resume Nuclear Inspections

Cairo: The UN nuclear watchdog and Iran agreed yesterday on practical modalities to resume nuclear inspection activities in Iran, according to an official social media post.

According to Nam News Network, this development is seen as a significant step forward, with Rafael Grossi, director general of the Vienna-based International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), expressing his approval. His social media post included photos of him signing documents with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi.

Iran had previously suspended its cooperation with the IAEA following Israeli-U.S. strikes on its nuclear facilities and the assassination of Iranian nuclear scientists in June. Despite the suspension, the nuclear watchdog maintained contact with Iranian authorities.
