Giza Governorate Listed in UNESCO Creative Cities Network

Giza: In a day that embodies the spirit of history and creativity, Giza governorate witnessed a momentous global event as the historic opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) coincided with UNESCO's official announcement of Giza's inclusion in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network 2025 in the field of film.

According to State Information Service Egypt, such a remarkable achievement marks international recognition of the governorate's deep-rooted cultural and artistic legacy. Giza Governor Adel el Naggar expressed pride and joy at this shining accomplishment, affirming that it represents a moment of honor and happiness for all Egyptians.

The achievement reflects the governorate's rich cultural and artistic heritage, its unique historical identity, and its prominent contributions to the film and arts industry, Naggar added. The governor emphasized that this day embodies a double celebration, the historic inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum and Giza's entry into the global network of creativity.

Naggar added that the inclusion in UNESCO's network crowns the integrated efforts of the Egyptian state to support creativity as one of the key drivers of sustainable development, in line with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to strengthen Egyptian cultural identity and embrace leading international experiences in culture and the arts.
