Sir bani yas: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty underlined on Sunday the importance of supporting the comprehensive and strategic partnership with the European Union, especially after the first Egypt-EU summit held in Brussels on October 22.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdelatty made the remarks during separate meetings on the sidelines of the Sir Bani Yas Forum with Luxembourg’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Xavier Bettel and Latvian Foreign Minister Baiba Bra‚¬¦¾e. He expressed Egypt’s keenness to continue developing relations with both countries, especially by enhancing economic and trade cooperation and tapping available investment opportunities in Egypt in light of ongoing improvements to the business environment, in addition to furthering cooperation across areas of mutual interest.
The two sides exchanged views on developments in the Middle East, particularly the situation in Gaza, with Abdelatty outlining Egypt’s efforts to support regional security and stability. He stressed the need for coordinated international efforts to ensure the durability of the ceasefire, secure the delivery of humanitarian aid and create the necessary political horizon to achieve a two-state solution and the establishment of a Palestinian state, as a means to achieving stability in the Middle East.
