Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty inaugurated the first annual conference for heads of Egyptian missions abroad. The event saw participation from Egypt's ambassadors overseas alongside senior foreign ministry officials.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdelatty emphasized the foreign ministry's pivotal role in defending Egypt's interests internationally. The conference's objectives include reviewing Egypt's foreign policy priorities, monitoring embassy and consulate activities, and exploring ways to enhance consular services for Egyptian communities abroad.

Abdelatty discussed efforts to restructure the ministry for smoother operations and improved institutional performance. He highlighted the importance of developing training and capacity-building programs aligned with job requirements to effectively fulfill the ministry's duties.

The foreign minister stressed the role of Egyptian missions in attracting foreign investment, boosting trade, promoting economic opportunities, opening new export markets, and supporting the private sector's role in the national economy. He also reviewed government measures to improve the investment climate and increase Egyptian export penetration.

Abdelatty affirmed Egypt's consistent stance on various regional and international issues, adopting a balanced approach to strengthen its global standing. He reiterated that the national interest serves as the primary reference point for shaping Egypt's foreign policy, advocating for intensified coordination with host countries amid geopolitical shifts.

The minister expressed a strong commitment to supporting Egyptians abroad, highlighting ongoing efforts to enhance consular services in line with Egypt's digital transformation and performance efficiency initiatives. He directed holding regular meetings with Egyptian expatriate communities to understand their concerns and keep them informed about new initiatives.

Addressing the cultural aspect of diplomatic work, Abdelatty underscored cultural promotion's importance in enhancing Egypt's international image and celebrating its cultural heritage. The conference included an interactive discussion where mission heads proposed ways to improve performance and adapt to current challenges, aiming to advance Egypt's national interests.
