FM meets Libyan counterpart

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, on Sunday received Libyan Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Najla El Mangoush. The meeting covered ways to enhance relations between the two countries in various fields, and consolidate cooperation in economic, trade and other fields, in a way that benefit the two countries. Safadi and El Mangoush also discussed the Libyan outstanding debts to Jordan, especially to the private sector, as the Libyan minister said that her country is keen to resolve this issue, noting that most of the necessary operations to settle the issue have been completed in preparation for resolving it as soon as possible. The two ministers stressed the importance of exchanging expertise and joint cooperation in combating extremist ideology and terrorism, enhancing security, stability and peace in the region, and resolving disputes through peaceful and diplomatic means. Safadi reaffirmed the Kingdom support to Libya’s security and stability and all targeted efforts to reach a Libyan-Libyan solution that achieves political stability, protects Libyan national interests, meets the aspirations of its people. El Mangoush briefed Safadi on developments in Libya and efforts to unify Libyan institutions. The two ministers discussed a number of Arab causes and efforts to activate joint Arab action to serve Arab causes, and stressed the importance of the Jeddah summit outcomes in terms of consolidating Arab solidarity and resolving Arab crises. El Mangoush also expressed her appreciation for the Kingdom’s role in efforts to maintain security, stability and peace in the region, Jordan’s support for Libya, and the political track aimed overcome the crisis.
