Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration Badr Abdelatty held a phone call with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Union of the Comoros Mohamed Mbaye. During the conversation, Minister Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s steadfast commitment to supporting the Comoros, highlighting the deep-rooted historical ties between the two nations. He expressed Egypt’s readiness to provide technical assistance and training across various sectors, as part of its broader efforts to support development initiatives in fellow African countries.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Minister Abdelatty underscored the importance of enhancing bilateral cooperation in key areas such as education, health, and capacity building. He also emphasized the need to activate existing cooperation mechanisms and expand collaboration into new fields that align with the shared interests of both countries.
The two ministers also discussed several regional issues of mutual concern, including developments in the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea. They stressed the importance of continued coordination within regional and international frameworks such as the African Union and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to advance shared objectives.
For his part, Minister Mbaye expressed his appreciation for Egypt’s pivotal role in addressing continental challenges. He conveyed the Comoros’ desire to deepen cooperation with Egypt across various sectors and to benefit from Egypt’s experience in supporting national development efforts.
