Baghdad: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty asserted Egypt’s strong support for the unity of the Yemeni state and its institutions along with the country’s independence and territorial integrity. He emphasized that the security and stability of Yemen are key to achieving security in the region and in the Red Sea region.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the foreign minister’s remarks were made during a meeting with Yemeni Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Shaya Mohsin Zindani. This meeting took place on the sidelines of the ministerial preparatory meeting of the Arab League Council in Baghdad on Thursday, 15th May 2025. Abdelatty voiced Egypt’s support for all efforts aimed at reaching a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis, which would help fulfill the aspirations of the Yemeni people.
Abdelatty also highlighted Egyptian efforts aimed at resuming the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip amid deteriorating humanitarian cond
itions in the war-torn enclave. Moreover, the two ministers discussed ways of promoting international support for the Arab Early Recovery and Reconstruction Plan.
