Emigration min., mayor of Irvine discuss boosting cooperation

Minister for Emigration Soha Gendy discussed with Mayor of Irvine Farrah Khan boosting cooperation with the city where a large number of the Egyptian expats live and making twinning agreements with Egyptian cities.

In a statement on Monday, the Ministry of Emigration said that the meeting, held on the sidelines of the minister’s visit to the US, tackled projects of new and renewable energy in Egypt and cooperation with the US in this field.

Gendy said that she is looking forward to promoting cooperation with Irvine, a city in California, in light of celebrating the centennial of Egyptian-US diplomatic relations last year.

Gendy said that Egypt plays a pioneering role to combat climate change, citing the country’s efforts to boost global climate action while playing host to the 2022 UN climate conference, COP27, in Sharm el Sheikh.

She asserted the keenness of her ministry on boosting cooperation with Egyptian experts based abroad to benefit from their potentials in supporting ongoing national development efforts.

She urged the businessmen in Irvine to invest in Egypt in the projects of clean and renewable energy.
