Egyptian Red Crescent Dispatches 172nd Aid Convoy to Gaza

Rafah: The 172nd convoy of humanitarian aid trucks has begun entering the Gaza Strip for Palestinians, via the auxiliary gate of the Rafah Border Crossing toward the Karem Abu Salem crossing, in preparation for their entry into the enclave.

According to State Information Service Egypt, all drives are a part of Egypt's ongoing efforts to alleviate the humanitarian crisis affecting more than two million Palestinians in Gaza. An official source mentioned that the trucks are carrying large quantities of food and relief aid, including food supplies and parcels, flour, fresh bread, legumes, preserved foods, medicines, personal care items, tents, and petroleum materials.

The Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) announced on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, that the 'Zad Al-Izza. From Egypt to Gaza' convoy, on its 172nd day, carried approximately 44,000 food baskets, including food parcels, flour, relief materials, as well as petroleum supplies to operate hospitals and vital facilities in the Strip.

The ERC also dispatched essential winter supplies, including blankets, mattresses, tarpaulins, and tents to shelter those affected.
