Doha: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of the Arab Republic of Egypt affirmed his country's full solidarity with the State of Qatar and its support in confronting the Israeli aggression, which he described as a serious violation of international law and the United Nations Charter. Speaking at the emergency Arab-Islamic summit in Doha, President El-Sisi condemned the aggression as a threat to Arab and Islamic national security.
According to Union of OIC News Agencies, President El-Sisi highlighted that the Israeli actions have transcended political and military logic, crossing red lines and threatening the sovereignty of an Arab state involved in mediation efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza. He warned of the dangers posed by Israel's destabilizing behavior, which could escalate the conflict and undermine peace in the region.
The Egyptian President stressed the need for global recognition of the impact of Israeli policies on regional peace prospects and international security. He emphasized that such actions obstruct future peace agreements and could lead to renewed conflict, jeopardizing historic peace-building efforts.
President El-Sisi also expressed Egypt's rejection of Israel's actions against the Palestinian people in Gaza, condemning the targeting of civilians and collective punishment. He reaffirmed Egypt's commitment to supporting Palestinian rights and opposing any proposals for displacement.
The President called for a decisive approach to the Palestinian issue, advocating for a two-state solution with East Jerusalem as the Palestinian capital. He expressed hope that the upcoming two-state solution conference at the United Nations General Assembly would mark a significant step toward resolving the Palestinian issue.
Addressing the critical moment faced by the Arab and Islamic worlds, President El-Sisi urged unity in defending Arab and Islamic rights, particularly the right of Palestinians to an independent state. He concluded by emphasizing the need for strong decisions and cooperation to address regional challenges and protect common interests.
At the summit's outset, President El-Sisi thanked His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, for hosting the summit amid pressing regional challenges, underscoring the importance of solidarity in the face of threats to stability and international peace.
