The suspension of flights occurs as the Iranian-Israeli conflict enters its third day, with both nations exchanging missile and drone strikes, resulting in significant casualties and damage. Reports indicate that dozens have been killed and hundreds injured in the conflict, with impac
ts on vital nuclear and scientific facilities. Iran reported that many of those killed are women and children, in addition to nuclear scientists and military leaders.
The conflict was initiated by Israeli airstrikes targeting Iranian nuclear facilities, military institutions, and oil refineries on June 13, 2025. In retaliation, Iran launched a missile attack on Israel, causing extensive damage to vital facilities, including an oil refinery in Haifa.
