Entebbe: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty announced that Egypt will participate with a high-level delegation in the summit hosted by Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni in Entebbe city on Friday. The summit’s primary focus is to identify African countries’ contributions to the African force to be deployed in Somalia.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdelatty made this announcement during a joint press conference with Italian Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani. The discussions emphasized the Horn of Africa region and the significance of maintaining Somalia’s unity and supporting the Somali government in its fight against terrorism.
Abdelatty underscored Egypt’s commitment to participating in the African Union mission aimed at enhancing security in Somalia and supporting the Somali government’s efforts. The minister highlighted the importance of the summit in addressing regional security issues and fostering collaboration among African nations.
