Egypt Reshuffles Labour Directorates to Boost Efficiency: Minister

Cairo: Egypt has carried out wide-ranging leadership changes and staff transfers across labour directorates in several governorates, part of a strategy to inject ‘new blood’ into key posts and strengthen them with experienced managers, its labour minister said Sunday. Labour Minister Mohamed Gobran said the reshuffle, which covered Cairo, South Sinai, Beheira, Assiut, Gharbia, Beni Suef, Suez, Luxor, Kafr El-Sheikh, and other governorates, aims to ensure directorates are led by officials capable of managing vital files and meeting citizens’ needs.

According to State Information Service Egypt, these measures reflect the ministry’s strategy to provide citizens with dignified services in line with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives. Gobran stated in a statement that leaders appointed under the changes bring diverse experience and the ability to engage directly with the public.

The minister noted that the move also aligns with the ministry’s broader plan to modernize Egypt’s labour system by expanding training-for-employment programs, improving workplace relations, and promoting occupational health and safety.

Gobran urged ministry staff to intensify efforts to deliver results, especially in strengthening ties between employers and workers and improving workplace standards.
