Egypt concerned over Israel’s plans to demolish villages in West Bank

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry expressed concerns about the Israeli authorities’ plans to demolish a number of Palestinian villages in Masafer Yatta area in the West Bank in view of forcing thousands of Palestinians to leave their homes in these villages.

In a press release on Saturday 07/05/2022, the ministry stressed rejection to plans for building 4,000 new settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories.

The Foreign Ministry said these plans represent flagrant violation of the international law.

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Hafez stressed full condemnation of the settlement policy in the Palestinian lands.

He accentuated that continued unilateral measures would lead to more tension and nurture violence, thus hampering the two-state solution and the achievement of just and comprehensive peace in the region.
